This is the very funny and very sad story of Charlie Marshall, a man about
to get married, and about to hit rehab. Charlie is an alcoholic who goes
from one disastrous night on the booze to another, ending up asleep on
the pavement as much as in his own bed.
The story follows Charlie as he tries to tackle his various problems,
as well as sort out his relationships with his mum, girlfriend and reckless
mates.
Although this is familiar 'lad lit' territory what makes it stand out
from other books in the genre is its brutal, unflinching honesty. An honesty
which makes for a hilarious and tragic read.
A highly recommended insight into the dark, drunken corridors of the male
psyche.
